a drawing class

However, I am always looking for ways to improve my drawings and paintings. I took a class for basic drawing at the University of New Mexico local branch but some how I felt robbed. I could not understand a class where the teacher set out an assignment and then praised anyone who ignored the assignment. One example was he set out the typical cow skull head set up small cactus plants around it and added a cowboy hat and said try and draw this, the praised a woman in the class for drawing a fox instead. The other two examples was having us all draw a self portrait over the holiday weekend and the same lady came in with a drawing of her dog, or having us draw a metamorphosis drawing and some student coming in with a landscape of the mountain creek.



Had I known that it was a free for all class I would have indulged although I don't think it applied to everyone.
